1. Purpose

The Environment Committee promotes environmental stewardship through conservation education, sustainable practices, and the development of eco-friendly spaces. It supports the AWH Group’s mission by fostering a deeper connection to nature and advancing environmentally sustainable development on AWH Group’s properties.

2. Scope

The Environment Committee is responsible for planning and supporting initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and conservation. These include implementing eco-friendly practices, facilitating conservation education, and supporting development inclusive outdoor spaces for the AWH Groups properties and programs. The committee collaborates with other AWH committees to integrate environmental stewardship into broader organizational initiatives.

3. Goals and Objectives

The goal of the committee is to support sustainable development and programing through education, environmental stewardship and conservation initiatives.

Objectives:

1. Support and implement sustainability initiatives, such as conservation and best practises education, renewable energy use, and eco-friendly gardening practices to the public.

2. Support and or facilitate the design and use of trails, other property facilities, and AWH Group spaces that are inclusive and accessible to all residents.

Please note all initiatives and or objectives are required to align with and support AWH by-laws, vision statement and terms of reference as they relate to AWH Groups property, projects and programing.
