Wellness

1. Purpose

The Wellness Committee promotes physical and mental well-being and works to relieve poverty by supporting accessible wellness programs, food security initiatives, and community resources. It supports the AWH Group’s mission by fostering inclusivity, resilience, and opportunities for improved quality of life for all residents.

 

2. Scope

The Wellness Committee is responsible for planning and supporting initiatives that promote well-being and poverty relief. These include organizing wellness programs, facilitating access to food and educational resources, and fostering community connection. The committee collaborates with other AWH committees to integrate wellness and poverty-relief elements into broader organizational initiatives.

 

3. Goals and Objectives

Goals:

  • To promote physical, spiritual and mental well-being through inclusive wellness programs, and outdoor education.

  • To relieve poverty by providing access to food programs, educational resources, and other supports for individuals and families in need.

Objectives:

  1. Develop wellness programs, including outdoor fitness, mindfulness workshops, and nature-based activities.

  2. Design inclusive spaces that support mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health for all age groups.

  3. Support community resource programs, such as digital literacy initiatives and outreach for marginalized groups.

  4. Establish partnerships with local food programs to address food insecurity within the community.

  5. Provide educational resources and workshops to build skills and improve economic opportunities for low-income residents.

  6. Develop initiatives that promote collaboration and reduce barriers to accessing essential services.
